Abstract

The application of artificial intelligence (AI) in prisoner rehabilitation is a new and potentially transformative concept. This paper suggests an artificial intelligence rehabilitation and reformation system, which will incorporate machine learning, adaptive assessment, and behavioral analytics to meet the needs of imprisoned populations in a multidimensional manner. At the incarceration level, the paper suggests the use of AI to personalize educational programs, mental-health programs, and dynamic risk-assessment guidelines, personalizing the rehabilitation programs in real-time, based on individual improvement. Additionally, the paper also focuses on AI-enabled post-release rehabilitation to ease their reintegration into society. The paper follows an evaluative doctrinal method to outline the probable use of AI in capacity building of Prisoners and ensure intervention of authorities in a timely manner to decrease recidivism. The smart prison model proposed in this paper aims at reducing recidivism, enhancing dignity, social reintegration, and long-term desistance by harmonizing AI innovation with human rights principles. The study, therefore produces a theoretically sound, policy-driven, and practical road map on entrenching AI into the correctional rehabilitation procedures.
