- Abstract
As a major energy consumer and CO2 emitter in China, the establishment of a sound environmental, social and governance (ESG) system for the construction industry is crucial to China’s realization of its “dual-carbon” goals and high-quality development. However, China’s ESG started late, and there are fewer studies related to ESG system construction in the construction industry. Based on the current situation of ESG system construction in China’s construction industry, we analyze the problems in ESG disclosure, assessment and rating, and investment practices of construction enterprises, and propose improvement paths to address the problems, which can lay a foundation for subsequent theoretical research on ESG in the construction industry and corporate ESG practices.
