- Abstract
As one of the most important performing arts centers in Northwest China, Shaanxi Opera House has been playing a vibrant role in the way of running unique performances, innovative operation and promotion, as well as systematic management, etc. Thus, it is widely recognized both within and outside the industry since its founding. However, having suffered years of Covid pandemic, despite the operational pressure, Shaanxi Opera House is meanwhile looking for a new development model – Cross-sector Collaboration. It aims to go beyond the boundary of traditional theaters, and extend arts activities to urban public spaces such as commercial compounds and historical relics, so as to realize mutual empowerment of art and commerce to cope with various uncontrolled issues. Therefore, from the perspective of arts management, this article focuses on Shaanxi Opera House and studies the motivations, initiatives, achievements and inspirations of this model. Meanwhile it comes up with its own thoughts and suggestions, and provides practical guidance that can serve as a reference for the transformation and upgrading of similar institutions and the high-quality development of urban public cultural spaces.
