Abstract

This study focuses on the systemic challenges faced by JD.com in the era of stock competition, including the cost burden of its asset-heavy model, the weakening of core advantages, losses from new business ventures, and market saturation. Through a comparative analysis of competitive landscapes involving platforms like Pinduoduo, Taobao, and Douyin, it reveals the root causes of JD.com’s growth bottlenecks. Grounded in supply chain synergy and transaction cost theories, the paper proposes six breakout strategies: optimizing logistics networks in lower-tier cities, opening logistics services to external parties, enabling data-driven full-link operations, entering the campus food delivery market, employing knowledge-based content for targeted traffic acquisition, and improving the ecosystem for third-party sellers. These strategies aim to transform JD.com’s asset-heavy infrastructure into an open ecosystem advantage, providing a theoretical framework and practical pathways for JD.com to overcome its developmental challenges and rebuild its competitiveness.
