The 6th International Conference on Social Sciences and Interdisciplinary Studies (ICSSIS) was held online on 20 November 2024. This conference brought together researchers and scholars from various disciplines to share their findings and insights under the overarching theme Addressing Global Challenges through Social Sciences and Education: Pathway to Achieving the SDGs.

A total of 273 participants, including 180 students, engaged in fruitful discussions and exchanges, contributing to the conference’s success. The event featured four plenary lectures, each covering different areas of the conference theme: 1) Prof. Dr. Firuza Begham Mustafa (University of Malaya) discussed Artificial Intelligence in Agriculture: Navigating Global Climate Change, 2) M. Zamzam Fauzanafi, MA, Ph.D. (Universitas Gadjah Mada, Indonesia) presented on Visual Elicitation on Place-Based Knowledge (Learsning) of Healthy Diets from Sustainable Food Systems, 3) Prof. Cathy Weng (National Taiwan University of Science and Technology) delivered a lecture titled Love in Action: The Heart of Sustainable Development, 4) Prof. Dr. Syawal Gultom (Universitas Negeri Medan) contributed valuable insights in this plenary session.

The 43 papers presented during the conference formed its core, providing ample opportunities for discussion. The topics covered in this volume span a wide range of critical issues, including Sustainable Development and Social Policy, Education, Technology and Society, Cultural Studies, Multiculturalism and Gender Studies, Civic and Political Studies, Urbanization, Social Transformation, and Spatial Planning. Each paper included in this volume has undergone a rigorous peer-review process to ensure the highest academic quality and relevance standards.
