Abstract

Based on the Decree of the Minister of Energy and Mineral Resources Number 1827/K/30/MEM/2018, one of the criteria for successful reclamation is land construction which has the highest weight, namely 60% of the total assessment. The land use management is very important because it will support revegetation activities so that the closing of the plant canopy can proceed more quickly. The obstacle experienced in KPC’s reclamation land, which has a tropical climate is high rainfall that can increase the rate of erosion during the land preparation stage. Therefore, strategic planning is needed to create optimal reclamation land that can be carried out effectively and efficiently in terms of time, manpower and funds. The DDR (dump, drainage, rehabilitation) plan document is a guide in forming safe dumping area from the potential for AMD (Acid Mine Drainage), good water management to control the rate of erosion and maintain the availability of water for the revegetation process. Qualitative research methods were used to prove DDR performance as the key to successful land use reclamation in the PRE-Dump area that was constructed in 2021. This area got a maximum score of 60% for land construction criteria which include land surface management, spreading of root zones and erosion control. The maximum value of land construction was also obtained by KPC for all reclamations in 2021 covering an area of 1,683.79 hectares. This success was achieved because of the commitment and cooperation of all related parties starting from planning, assessing and implementing teams.
