- Abstract
It is almost an international consensus to install fixed firefighting systems in some important or high-risk road tunnels. And the selection of fixed firefighting systems is influenced by factors such as tunnel section shape, location, and traffic composition. In this paper, a container transport vehicle model was constructed based on the container and its supporting framework. And the influence of the existence and location of the model on the fire extinguishing effect of foam-water spray firefighting system (FWS system) were studied. The results show that the FWS system has good fire control and cooling effects for tunnel oil pan fire. Whether there is shielding or not, the FWS system in the test has some weak points where there are relatively few firefighting agents arriving. Finally, a discussion was conducted on the commonly used nozzles for different types of fixed firefighting systems in tunnels, and it was suggested to develop more efficient nozzles based on factors such as tunnel section characteristics and fire extinguishing agent properties.
