Abstract

Air logistics is an important way for regional participation in world trade connection. The development of air cargo–oriented industries is often clustered around the airport due to time efficiency constraints. Airport logistics and air cargo–oriented industries become an important engine of regional economy. The interaction of Airport logistics and air cargo–oriented industries form a complex system. The interaction between air cargo–oriented industry synergy and airport logistics system (ALS) efficiency is not clearly defined and cannot be empirically verified. This can make it difficult to promote regional industrial synergy through ALS development. This study, therefore, simulates the matching between industry collaboration and ALS efficiency. Based on six representative airport logistics hubs in China, ALS efficiency is measured using the Data Envelopment Analysis–Malmquist index approach; Zhengzhou is selected as the research object. Vensim simulation software is employed, combining system dynamics modeling with computer simulation. The simulation results indicate that ALS efficiency is affected by various factors, such as the degree of industry coordination, airport output value, airport enterprise scale, and the number of airport employees. ALS efficiency increases with improved industry collaboration, and there is little difference between the growth rate of industry collaboration and ALS efficiency.
