- Abstract
TBM (Tunnel Boring Machine) is commonly used in hard rock subway tunnels. In double-shields mode, the construction speed is fast, but in some special periods, it is necessary to switch to single-shield mode. This paper describes the working principle of TBM in different shield modes, and comparatively analyzes the adaptability of using environment of different modes. The analysis of mode switching timing is completed by example statistics, which can provide effective reference for the implementation of TBM shield mode switching in related projects.
