The 2025 6th International Conference on Urban Construction and Management Engineering (ICUCME 2025) was successfully held on July 11, 2025, through an online platform, bringing together a vibrant community of scholars, engineers, and industry practitioners engaged in shaping the future of urban environments. With over 80 participants and 30 high-quality papers accepted for presentation and publication, the conference served as a timely academic forum to explore emerging theories, practical technologies, and policy insights in urban construction, engineering, and governance under increasingly complex global challenges.

The conference was honored to feature two prominent keynote speakers who delivered forward-looking and interdisciplinary insights. Assoc. Prof. Bin Hu from Beijing University of Technology shared his study on the composite utilization of underground space within public green areas in historic districts of Beijing, offering a compelling case for spatial optimization and sustainable urban revitalization. Prof. Seyed Mohammadreza Ghadiri from the Swiss Information and Management Institute provided a strategic perspective on the integration of artificial intelligence in urban systems, addressing the technical and governance-related implications of deploying AI in city-scale infrastructure and services. Complementing these keynote speeches, a series of oral presentations offered by international researchers enriched the academic dialogue and showcased a broad spectrum of advancements and case-based research from both theoretical and applied perspectives.

ICUCME 2025 covered a wide and interconnected array of topics reflecting the complex and interdisciplinary nature of modern urban systems. Research contributions spanned the fields of urban development, municipal and civil engineering, architec-tural planning, and environmental infrastructure. Discussions on smart cities, sponge city design, carbon-neutral city strategies, and public transport optimization highlighted growing interests in digital transformation and sustainability. Meanwhile, topics such as urban public service delivery, logistics and supply chain systems, disaster model-ing, and environmental risk management underscored the need for robust and adaptive urban management frameworks. Contributions on urban-rural integration, tunnel and bridge engineering, and hydropower planning further expanded the technical depth of the conference.

The conference also placed considerable emphasis on contemporary challenges such as public safety, accident prevention, and data-driven governance. The integration of big data analytics, ICT tools, and smart infrastructure into city management models was a recurring theme, revealing the growing role of digital technologies in shaping resilient and efficient urban systems.

We extend our sincere appreciation to all authors, reviewers, keynote speakers, and attendees for their valuable contributions to ICUCME 2025. The proceedings collected in this volume reflect the intellectual rigor, practical relevance, and multidisciplinary vision that define current trends in urban construction and management engineering. We are confident that these contributions will serve as a useful reference for researchers, prac-titioners, and policymakers committed to fostering sustainable, safe, and intelligently managed urban environments.
