- Abstract
Land plays a significant role in the dynamics of development. Therefore, Article 33 paragraph (3) of the 1945 Constitution of the Republic of Indonesia states that the land, water, and natural resources contained therein are controlled by the state and used for the greatest prosperity of the people. Therefore, the main objective of this study is to determine the legal regulations regarding land around river boundaries and to analyze the status of land ownership around river boundaries and the legal consequences of granting land rights around river boundaries. This research is a normative legal study with a descriptive and analytical nature, utilizing data collection techniques through literature review. This study is expected to provide input for the Land Office to act carefully and meticulously in implementing procedures for granting land rights around river boundaries and to provide information and knowledge for the community, especially those living in riverbank areas.
