Abstract

This study aims to examine the relationship between Job Embeddedness and Organizational Citizenship Behavior (OCB) among teachers at Kalam Kudus School Medan. This research employs a quantitative approach with a correlational method. The study sample consisted of96 teachers selected using purposive sampling based on the criterion of having at least one year of work experience. Data were collected using a Job Embeddedness scale covering the dimensions of link, fit, and sacrifice, as well as an OCB scale encompassing the dimensions of altruism, conscientiousness, sportsmanship, courtesy, and civic virtue. The assumption tests indicated that the data were normally distributed and showed a linear relationship. Pearson correlation analysis revealed a significant positive relationship between Job Embeddedness and OCB, with a correlation coefficient of 0.615 and a significance value of 0.000 ( p < 0.05 ). This implies that the higher the teachers’ level of embeddedness in their work, the higher their organizational citizenship behaviors. The coefficient of determination shows that Job Embeddedness contributes 37.8% to OCB, while the remaining percentage is influenced by other factors outside this study. These findings highlight the importance of schools’ efforts to strengthen teachers’ embeddedness in order to foster positive behaviors that go beyond formal role requirements. Keywords: OCB, Job Embeddedness.
