- Abstract
Bogibeel, an area located on the banks of river Brahmaputra and 17 kms from Dibrugarh city is a new destination for tourists all over the world. Since the completion of construction of a road cum rail bridge in 2018, this place has assumed importance to facilitate “Riverine Tourism” for people and create socio-economic development of the region. The bridge over Brahmaputra in Bogibeel is the second longest bridge in Asia and connects not only Assam and Arunachal Pradesh but stands as a strategic landmark for the country. The purpose of the study will be to explore and venture the potentialities, possibilities, and prospects of “Riverine Tourism” of a novel destination, Bogibeel. To carry out the study field-visit by the investigator and interviewing the existing entrepreneurs will be helpful. Further, the analysis of the responses of the entrepreneurs will result in useful findings that will raise the possibilities and prospects of tourism all along the banks of Brahmaputra river with “Bogibeel” emerging as an epicenter of “Riverine Tourism” in Assam.
