- Abstract
Lukács’ Theory of Reification and Marx’s Theory of Alienation share similarities while also exhibiting differences. The similarity is primarily manifested in that both theories regard capitalist society as the critiqued entity, expound on the manifestations of reification and alienation phenomena in a similar manner, and uphold the restoration of human beings’ subject status. A key manifestation of the difference lies in the discrepancy in their definitions and connotations, critical emphases, and ways of sublation for reification and alienation. The study on their comparison holds remarkable theoretical and practical significance.
