Abstract

A language laboratory is a specialized facility designed to support interactive and effective language learning by utilizing advanced technology. It plays a crucial role in enhancing the four language skills, listening, speaking, reading, and writing of students, particularly in the English Language and Literature Department. To improve governance and the quality of services offered, the Language Laboratory at the English Language and Literature Department, Faculty of Language and Arts, State University of Medan, has established an Integrity Zone. This initiative aims to ensure transparency, accountability, and superior service quality in managing laboratory activities. One of the primary services provided by the laboratory is conducting TOEFL Preparation training for final semester students. This training is intended to help students improve their English proficiency and prepare effectively for the TOEFL exam, which is crucial for their academic and professional futures. This study aims to provide a general overview of how the Integrity Zone is implemented in organizing TOEFL Preparation training, highlighting its role in enhancing the service quality of the Language Laboratory. Using a qualitative research method with a descriptive approach, the study collected data through questionnaires and documentation. The qualitative analysis revealed that the implementation of the Integrity Zone has significantly increased transparency and accountability in running the TOEFL training program. These improvements have positively impacted the management and delivery of the training, ensuring that students receive high-quality preparation services. Ultimately, the Integrity Zone supports the Language Laboratory in maintaining excellence in language education and TOEFL test readiness, benefiting both students and the institution.
