Abstract

This study examines the impact of social networking sites (SNS), particularly Facebook, on students’ attitudes towards writing in Indonesian higher education. The research utilized a quantitative methodology, gathering data via questionnaires and structured writing assignments, subsequently processed and analyzed with SPSS. The results demonstrate that Facebook is a useful tool for working together, getting students involved, pushing them to think about themselves, and helping them learn more. Students showed considerable increases in their writing skills, especially in areas that were made stronger by regular practice and feedback from classmates. Also, adding SNS to the writing process made students much more confident and motivated, which made them feel better about writing in general. These findings emphasize the significance of SNS-based learning in higher education, as it fosters an interactive and supportive atmosphere that improves writing abilities and student engagement. The study also suggests useful ways to improve the curriculum and teaching methods. It also says that further research should be done on the long-term effects of using SNS and other platforms in diverse educational contexts.
