The chapter in this volume shows that artificial intelligence is no viewed as narrow technical subject, but it has emerged as a transformative force that is shaping industries, management, sustainability, governance, work and society. The diverse contributions included in these proceedings addresses the themes such as AI-enabled human capital valuation, predictive maintenance and industrial intelligence, sustainable fashion and issues linked with emerging AI applications and societal transformation. The key strength of this edited volume it its interdisciplinary coverage. The contributions cover different areas of management, engineering, business and sustainability. These chapters discuss how AI can strengthen the workforce analytics and strategic capability in HR through standardized human capital valuation. Similarly other contributions discuss role of machine learning, sensors within Industry 4.0 environment. The chapters presented in this edited volume discuss that future of AI must be understood not only through its computational capability but also through its institutional, operational and human implications. The volume provides new opportunities for efficiency, prediction, value creation and sustainability. At the same time, it also discusses the need of responsibility, ethical judgement and institutional readiness. This means that it examines how future generations can engage with AI within thoughtful and constructive ways. We extend our sincere appreciation to all authors who have contributed to this volume.
