Abstract

Kampung Melayu is a Malay settlement that had developed even before the Fort de Vijfhoek, the first VOC fortress built in the late 17th century. The Kampung Melayu residential area is located on the Semarang River’s west bank and on the fort’s north side. Based on the condition of the Kampung Melayu in general, there are still many cultural heritage buildings in it that are in danger of destruction. This study will discuss the strategy of preserving community-based cultural heritage objects as a more comprehensive handling and data collection considering that this site is felt to be in a condition of high urgency to intervene, a site with high conservation priority/classification. To achieve the ideal goal of the strategy for the preservation of cultural heritage objects in this community, we also need to analyze SWOT because we must carefully look at the basic problems that are being faced by the community concerned. This analysis allows organizations to identify factors that influence positive and negative from within and from outside that can influence strategic planning and decision-making. In the management of the Kampung Melayu Site, Internal Factors in the management of the Kampung Melayu Site are the residents of Dadapsari, Bandarharjo Village, and the Semarang City Government. External Factors are the Central Government, Provinces, and Investors who come from outside the City of Semarang. After the SWOT matrix is carried out, it can be seen that pentahelix and holistic strategies have been carried out.
