Abstract

SDGs are the blueprint to achieve a better and more sustainable future for all. SDGs target #11.7 means that by 2030, cities should provide universal access to safe, inclusive, and accessible green and public spaces for women and children, older persons, and persons with disabilities. Besides, all public spaces and facilities must comply with the standards regulated by the government. This research was conducted at the Bumirejo Green Public Space in Semarang City, which provides facilities for recreation, social interaction, sports, and playgrounds for the community. The purposes of the research are (i) to find out whether the Bumirejo park has met the standard? and (ii) to find out whether the facility has met the SDGs criteria. This research was conducted with a qualitative and quantitative approach. Analysis determined how the green public spaces meet standards regulated by the Government and SDGs criteria by UN Habitat. The results of the analysis showed that (i) overall elements of the Bumirejo park, approximately 90% have met the standard, and (ii) overall elements of the facility, approximately 66% have met the SDGs criteria. To improve the achievement of all standard and SDGs criteria, improvements are needed, particularly in the following elements: walking path/jogging track, main entrance, stairs, and soccer field. All improvements must refer to the city planning and design principles, criteria of the SDGs and architectural and urban design standards for public facilities.
