Abstract

Generalized Anxiety Disorder (GAD) is a prevalent mental health condition characterized by persistent uncontrollable worry and comorbidities like depression, posing significant challenges to individuals and society. This paper examines the efficacy and limitations of current GAD treatments, including pharmacotherapy (SSRIs, SNRIs, and traditional Chinese medicine), psychotherapy (notably CBT), physical interventions (rTMS), digital health tools, and combination therapies. It highlights that while pharmacotherapy offers moderate efficacy, it faces issues like delayed onset and side effects. CBT provides long-term benefits but suffers from resource constraints; and integrated approaches show synergistic advantages. Furthermore, the study explores the integration of GAD interventions with multidimensional resilience theory, emphasizing how psychological resilience development, social policies, and community resilience networks (e.g., workplace support, mutual aid groups) can enhance treatment outcomes. The paper concludes that future efforts should focus on combining precision intervention with resilience building, promoting cross-disciplinary collaboration to optimize mental health services and improve long-term recovery for GAD patients.
