Analysis of High Value Patent Competitiveness in Gansu Province

- Abstract
The article is based on publicly available data on the incoPat patent platform and uses the “shared value” to screen high-value patents in Gansu Province. It analyzes the competitiveness of high-value patents in Gansu Province from three dimensions: the number, contribution, and value of high-value patents. In the 2024 high-value patent competitiveness analysis, Gansu Province ranks 24th in the country as a whole, 21st in terms of patent value, and 25th in terms of patent contribution. Lanzhou is far ahead in the competitiveness of high-value patents in various cities (prefectures) within the province. Enterprises such as Huaneng Qingyang Coal Power Co., Ltd., Jinchuan Group Co., Ltd., and Huating Coal Industry Group Co., Ltd. Also occupy a place in the high-value patent ranking, demonstrating the importance that enterprises attach to high-quality innovation activities and apply for high-quality patents. In order to enhance high-value cultivation, Gansu Province can adopt strategies such as policy support, economic incentives, and multi-dimensional joint cultivation to improve the overall quality of patents.
