- Abstract
The concept of “Park City” differs from “Urban Park.” The former focuses on describing urban ecology, while the latter merely reflects the attribute of geographical location. The term “park” is not just a noun indicating a place, but also an adjective that imbues a space with ecological significance. Examining the current governance of urban public spaces, the excessive suppression of emotional governance by technological governance has led to a rigid dilemma of spatial ecology. This paper will select the night market and parks on Sanse Road in Jinjiang District, Chengdu, as case studies, constructing a three-dimensional framework of “Institution - Action - Emotion” to analyze the functional pathways of spatial ecology at various stages. From a full lifecycle perspective, it will dissect the inherent mechanism from the rise of “Park City” to the decline of “Urban Park,” thereby exploring the practical logic of ecological succession in the governance of urban public spaces. It will summarize the failed experiences of spatial ecological rigidity and provide feasible suggestions for the transformation of governance from “Urban Park” to “Park City.”
