Abstract

In the knowledge economy era, organizational identity serves as a critical soft power for enterprises to unite employees and enhance core competitiveness. As the nervous system connecting organizations and employees, internal communication directly determines employees’ cognitive perception and emotional attachment to the organization. This study investigates how internal communication mechanisms influence organizational identity through multiple pathways. Through literature review, we construct a theoretical model centered on “communication mechanisms—cognitive/emotional mediators—organizational identity,” proposing three core influence pathways: information flow, relational networks, and meaning construction. Using a questionnaire survey of 423 employees from various industries, we analyzed data through structural equation modeling (SEM). Results confirm that all three communication mechanisms significantly positively impact organizational identity, with all three mediators validated. Finally, this study provides actionable strategic recommendations for enterprises to systematically optimize internal communication and strengthen organizational cohesion.
