Abstract

To explore the impact of the establishment of cross-border e-commerce comprehensive pilot zones on the development of cross-border logistics, a cross-border logistics index evaluation system was constructed and the entropy value method was used to obtain the index weights, thereby obtaining the cross-border logistics development index as the explained variable. The establishment of cross-border e-commerce comprehensive pilot zones was taken as the core explanatory variable. On this basis, a multi-period difference-in-differences model was constructed for exploration. In addition, on the basis of the multi-period difference-in-differences model, a dynamic effect analysis model was constructed to explore the long-term impact; a mediation effect test model was constructed to explore the role of the mediation mechanism. The research found that the establishment of comprehensive pilot zones has a promoting effect on the development of cross-border logistics, and as the coverage rate of comprehensive pilot zones increases, the promoting effect on the development of cross-border logistics shows an overall upward trend. Among them, industrial structure upgrading plays a partial mediating role. It is necessary to continue to strengthen policy reinforcement, promote the construction experience of fully covered provinces.
