Abstract

Corporate disclosure of climate risk is required to build supply chain resilience against rising climate uncertainty. Using a sample of Chinese A-share listed companies from 2010 to 2024, we analyze the impact of corporate climate risk disclosure on supply chain resilience. Results suggest that higher levels of corporate climate risk disclosure enhance supply chain resilience. Mechanism analysis finds that climate risk disclosure enhances resilience by alleviating financing constraints and improving reputation. The effect of enhancing resilience is more significant for non-state-owned enterprises, firms with higher analyst coverage, and firms with stronger growth potential. These disclosures reduce information asymmetry and aid in business continuity planning.
