Abstract

Since China proposed the concept of core literacy in 2017, it has emphasized the key cultivation of the four dimensions of physics: “physical concepts, scientific thinking, scientific inquiry, and scientific attitudes and responsibilities. Compared with the traditional rigid and inflexible teaching model, this shift incorporates the improvement plan of physics core literacy, increasing the possibility of innovation in physics teaching models. At the same time, this shift requires the innovation of teaching models to pay more attention to the improvement of students’ comprehensive abilities, so it is imperative to explore the reform of physics teaching models under the guidance of core literacy. This study systematically integrates Citespace bibliometrics and research on core literacy-oriented physics teaching models, revealing research hotspots, evolution paths, and future trends through visual maps. It compensates for the subjectivity and limitations of traditional review research, enabling further innovation in physics teaching models to adapt to the needs of the current era. This study’s analysis reveals that current research on the development of physics teaching models has primarily progressed through three phases: an embryonic development phase (2012-2015), a slow growth phase (2016-2020), and a period of rapid development (2021-2025). This research primarily focuses on conceptual shifts, the development of critical thinking, the cultivation of core physics literacy, and the integration of modern technology and teaching concepts with traditional physics teaching models. The integration of advanced science and technology and cutting-edge teaching thinking into physics classrooms is a key trend in the future.
