Abstract

In an effort to grasp the domestic and international deveoplment trends, the Democratic People’s Republic of Korea (DPRK) is steadfast in its commitment to enhance the leadship of the Workers’ Party of Korea (WPK), implement the “Five-Year Plan for Economic Development,” improve foreign-oriented publicity, strengthen national defense capability, actively engage in foreign exchange, and fight against COVID-19 since the onset of Kim Jong-un’s presidency. As a result, political, economic, cultural, defense, and diplomatic developments have witnessed remarkable achievements, pushing ahead with the DPRK-based socialism. Research on the development of the DPRK-based socialism under Kim’s political tenure is beneficial for China to comprehend the DPRK, strengthen amicable exchanges and cooperation between the two countries, and concertedly strive for the development of socialism worldwide.
