Abstract

New energy vehicles (NEVs) have demonstrated enormous market potential, and it is crucial to enhance the entrepreneurial performance of NEV ventures by constructing an innovation value chain. This study adopts a longitudinal single-case research method, taking Xiaomi Auto as the research object. Through data collection and case analysis, it reveals the inherent laws in the construction process of Xiaomi Auto’s innovation value chain, identifies the key factors influencing the network formation of each link in the innovation value chain, and explores the transmission mechanisms and interactions among different levels. The research findings indicate that Xiaomi Auto has effectively improved its entrepreneurial performance through an innovation R&D engine, an efficient industrialization platform, and market orientation. The factors affecting the formation of the innovation value chain network include talent strategy, external cooperation, capital operation, and policy environment. The transmission mechanism of each link in the innovation value chain is reflected in the driving force from external environments such as capital and government policies. This study not only provides guidance for entrepreneurs to construct an innovation value chain but also offers strategic suggestions for policymakers and supply chain participants.
