Abstract

The family serves as a crucial foundation for the mental health development of adolescents. Parenting styles are directly correlated with adolescents’ self-perception while family interaction patterns shape their communication skills and conflict resolution strategies. Adolescents unconsciously intimate the interpersonal relationship management approaches observed in their family environments. Furthermore, family socioeconomic status influences adolescent educational attainment and career aspirations through mechanisms like investment in education resources. This paper systematically examines the mechanisms through which family factors influence adolescent mental health, focusing on both direct and indirect impacts. Specifically, the analysis encompasses parent-adolescent interactions, objective family environments and parental factors. Through this paper, it can be observed directly that how different family factors affect adolescent mental health in different pathways. The aim of the findings is to provide references and evidence for families, educational institutions and relevant government agencies to improve adolescent family education environments, as well as to address and prevent psychological issues arising from familial factors.
