With the continuous advancement of quantitative methods and data-driven technologies, mathematical statistics and economic analysis have become increasingly important tools for understanding complex economic systems and supporting informed decision-making. The 2026 5th International Conference on Mathematical Statistics and Economic Analysis (MSEA 2026) was successfully held from July 17 to 19, 2026, in Guiyang, China. The conference brought together researchers, scholars, and professionals to exchange recent achievements, discuss emerging challenges, and explore interdisciplinary approaches in mathematical statistics, economics, and related fields.

The conference featured keynote speeches delivered by distinguished experts, providing insights into frontier research topics. Prof. Canzhong Yao from South China University of Technology, China, presented "Intelligent Assistants in the Platform Economy: Complex Network Analysis, Decision Delegation, and Economic Interaction—From Human-Centered Platforms to Assistant-Mediated Economic Networks," discussing the impact of intelligent technologies on economic interactions and platform-based systems. Prof. Shenghui Cheng from Ji'nan University, China, shared research on "Hamiltonian Cycle Clustering with Asymmetric Correlation," highlighting advances in mathematical modeling and data analysis. Assoc. Prof. Pin Li from Xi'an University of Science and Technology, China, presented "Evaluating the Impact and Heterogeneity of China's OFDI on Total-factor Carbon Emission Performance in Belt and Road Initiative Countries," focusing on quantitative evaluation of international economic development and sustainability. In addition, oral presentation sessions provided participants with opportunities to present recent findings, exchange ideas, and promote academic communication.

The conference covered broad research areas related to economic analysis and mathematical statistics, including digital economy, financial engineering, mathematical finance, economic policy, international economy, environmental economy, sustainable development, economic big data analytics, empirical economic research, statistics, applied mathematics, probability theory and mathematical statistics, information and computing science, and interdisciplinary applications of quantitative methods. These discussions reflected the growing integration of mathematical methodologies and economic research in addressing complex social and economic issues.

The proceedings of MSEA 2026 consist of selected papers presented at the conference. All submissions were reviewed by experts through a rigorous peer-review process to ensure the quality, originality, and relevance of the published works. A total of 34 papers were accepted from 88 submissions, and the conference attracted more than 100 participants from different institutions and research communities.
