- Abstract
In 2022, five gov’t depts jointly issued the Opinions on Accelerating Cruise Yacht Industry. The cruise industry is highly valued by the central gov’t. This paper builds an input-output model based on industrial association theory. Measuring China’s cruise industry economy can objectively evaluate its position in the national economy and guide future development.
To fit cruise industry characteristics and facilitate international comparison, the article categorizes 42 sectors into 20 industry categories with reference to foreign cruise studies. Using this input-output table, the study measures the cruise industry’s contribution to the Chinese economy. The conclusions reveal the industry’s forward and backward correlation with other sectors, providing strong support for China’s cruise industry development.
