Abstract

The use of AI in governance is a complex and promising area since it creates numerous opportunities and raises numerous legal questions. This paper seeks to explore the topic of AI in governance, which is centered on AI as a decision support tool, service delivery, and automation in governance. However, AI application in the governance system also has essential concerns such as bias and discrimination, non-transparency, accountability, privacy and confidentiality, and juridical problems. In this paper, the author calls for effectual legal frameworks governing and incorporating AI to observe global diversity and cultivate equitable policy. Some of the recommendations regarding regulation include the development of an AI bill of rights, international consensus on the regulation of AI, requirements for algorithmic accountability of AI systems, non-discriminatory collection and application of data, data protection, and the reinforcement of human control of AI systems. Thus, applying all these measures will help AI and related innovations promote the principles of diversity, somewhat effective governance, and observe all human rights. The paper concludes by stressing the need for cooperation with the international community to address AI challenges since the world is pluralistic, and an ethical AI governance framework is necessary.
