- Abstract
Drawing from traditional definitions of ginhawa, this study furthers it as a spiritual concept. By using Filipino indigenous methods, the researcher was able to interact with members of El Shaddai as the case of the study. Based on selected teachings of their servant-leader Bro. Mike Velarde, and testimonies of the members, ginhawa is experienced in aspects of katawan, emosyon, kalooban, and kaluluwa. In the context of El Shaddai, ginhawa is the interpretation of good human experience and condition, which is experienced with faith in God at present. Finally, ginhawa will be discussed as a concept of indigenous values towards a greater understanding of Filipino personhood, psychology, and spirituality.
