Abstract

Neurodiversity encompasses all neurocognitive variations within the human species. It represents the differences in brain function, evident in individuals with conditions such as Autism Spectrum Disorder (ASD), Attention deficit hyperactivity disorder (ADHD), Dyslexia, and Dyspraxia. These variations are not uncommon but are a natural part of human evolution. Technology, in various forms, can redefine work by making processes more efficient and providing real-time support for those who need it, potentially revolutionizing how work is accomplished. Studying neurodiversity and the role of technology in supporting it is crucial, as it can foster a more creative and socially aware society. With the right adaptations and the application of new technologies like AI, we can envision a future where neurodiversity is not only accepted but actively embraced.

To explore how technology supports neurodiverse individuals and to assess research in this area, we conducted a bibliometric analysis. An initial screening yielded 72 publications, which, after careful review, was narrowed to 40 documents for further analysis. In the next stage, a structured literature review was performed, examining the objectives, topics, and research methods on neurodiversity and technology in workplaces across the selected studies. Finally, findings were synthesized in light of the research objectives and existing knowledge. The analysis revealed that inclusive, customizable technology significantly enhances support for neurodivergent individuals in learning, work, and social contexts.
