- Abstract
This article conducts a literature review and comparative analysis of the origins of Wang Shizhen’s “Shenyun” (Spiritual Resonance) theory and the content of his work Yuyang Shihua (Yuyang’s Remarks on Poetry). By integrating the development of ancient Chinese Daoist literary thought, it demonstrates that Wang Shizhen’s “Shenyun” theory was directly or indirectly influenced by Daoist philosophy, which is reflected in his Yuyang Shihua. This study contributes to clarifying the specific connotations of Wang Shizhen’s “Shenyun” theory and understanding the poetic trends of the early Qing Dynasty. It also serves as evidence of how Daoist philosophy and literary views promoted the development of ancient Chinese poetics.
