- Abstract
Young adulthood is a critical period where individuals confront new tasks, pressures, and roles, including marriage. Unmarried individuals in early adulthood often face societal stigma, which can negatively impact their well-being. One strategy to enhance well-being is to focus on the positive aspects of life, a concept known as gratitude. This study aims to know to what extent does gratitude contribute to subjective well-being among unmarried young adults. The samples in this study were unmarried young adults. The total of 466 participants were collected, dominated by 351 participants were female (75.3%) and 152 people aged 21 years (32.6%). This study uses a quantitative method with a purposive sampling technique. Gratitude variable measured using The Gratitude Questionnaire-6 (GQ-6). Subjective well-being was measured by Positive Affect Negative Affect Schedule (PANAS) and the Satisfaction With Life Scale (SWLS). This study found that there is a contribution of gratitude to subjective well-being among unmarried young adults of 19.8%.
