- Abstract
As a consequence of global urbanisation, the pressure on city planners to enhance the level of life for urban residents has grown, elevating the profile of the idea of urban livability. In order to investigate and objectively evaluate the expression of livability, this study draws on urban planning, urban design, and landscape architecture. This research focuses on urban planning, urban design, and landscape architecture in Hong Kong, a city with a high urban density and considerable strain on livability that has nonetheless succeeded reasonably well in this field. Since landscape architecture is a kind of art that is both more readily apparent to the naked eye and in a perpetual state of evolution, it behove us to delve further into the topic at hand. In this book, sustainability is the unifying issue that runs through a study of relevant literature on the topic of livability.
