- Abstract
This study delves into the impact of serious games on individuals’ awareness on data privacy seriousness. The game incorporates thriller themes, a pixel art-style, and a point-and-click approach that enhances its immersive experience. With the game at hand, the research examines the relationship between a player’s immersion levels and their perceived seriousness of data privacy risks. By utilizing a survey questionnaire to 102 participants, the study was able to identify a moderate positive correlation between these two critical variables. Additionally, respondents’ feedback provides opportunities for further exploration on serious games, immersion, and innovative approaches to promoting data privacy awareness.
