Preface Conference: Workshop on Computation: Theory and Practice (WCTP 2025)
Date: 1–3 December 2025
Location: Chitose, Japan (Hybrid)

Research on computation has its roots in the 1930s, with foundational studies on computability and the parallel development of computing machinery. Since its inception, computer science has emphasized the close interplay between theory and practice. Theoretical frameworks are developed to address practical problems, while experimentation and simulation play a vital role in validating, refining, and advancing these theories.

WCTP 2025 is the fourteenth workshop jointly organized by the Institute of Science Tokyo, Kyoto Tachibana University, the University of the Philippines Diliman, De La Salle University Manila, and the Chitose Institute of Science and Technology. The workshop focuses on both theoretical and practical aspects of computation, providing a forum for researchers from academia and industry to present recent advances and discuss computational challenges that have a direct impact on modern society.

The workshop was held at Chitose Arcadia Plaza, Chitose, Hokkaido, Japan, from December 1 to 3, 2025. These proceedings contain the papers presented at WCTP2025. The program comprises 36 carefully selected contributions, reflecting recent visions, methodologies, and results in the field of computer science. All papers included in this volume have been reviewed and are published in their final form.
