- Abstract
This study aims to design and develop the Intellectual Property Management Information System (SIMHAKI) at Universitas Negeri Medan (Unimed) to enhance efficiency, transparency, and accuracy in managing intellectual property (IP). Manual IP administration has created issues of redundancy, delayed processes, and limited monitoring capability. The Rapid Application Development (RAD) model was applied through four stages: requirement planning, workshop design, construction, and implementation. The system was developed as a web-based application integrated with the WhatsApp Application Programming Interface (API) to deliver real-time notifications. The system was evaluated through expert validation and user acceptance testing using the Technology Acceptance Model (TAM) framework. Results demonstrate that SIMHAKI achieved high levels of technical validity and usability, with an overall acceptance score of 4.88 out of 5. The system effectively enhances administrative workflows, supports transparent communication, and streamlines IP submission and verification processes. SIMHAKI serves as a scalable model for digital IP management across higher education institutions, contributing to the broader transformation of university-based research administration.
