- Abstract
This article explores the complex interrelationship between climate change and gender inequality. The study reveals that climate change does not affect women and men equally; due to social, economic, and institutional factors, women are more vulnerable to its impacts. Natural disasters, food and water shortages, health risks, and gender-based violence disproportionately affect women. Moreover, limited access to land, finance, and decision-making platforms reduces women’s adaptive capacity to climate-related challenges. The article emphasizes the importance of integrating gender perspectives into climate policy using ecofeminist and intersectional theoretical frameworks. By analyzing statistical data from the UN and COP conferences, the paper evaluates the level of women’s participation in climate decision-making processes and the progress made in this area. The study concludes that achieving a just and sustainable climate future requires more than technical solutions; gender equality is not only a human rights issue but a strategic imperative. The widely cited statement “There is no climate justice without gender justice” serves as the foundational principle guiding this approach.
