Abstract

In the context of the current Environmental Crisis, the Global Community has focused its attention on the goals of a Green World and Green Growth. All socially and culturally significant institutions, within their capabilities, aim to achieve these goals by directing their activities toward improving Ecology and the Environment, as well as addressing the consequences of Climate Change. Within these priorities, the role of museums is of great importance. Museums, which have always responded promptly to the needs of the Social World, have consistently included ecological and environmental issues among their most pressing tasks. Throughout their history, museums have addressed these challenges using traditional, classical forms and methods of work. Today, museums respond to the social demand for creating a Green World by applying innovative and creative methods of engagement.
