Abstract

The synthesis of 1-cyclohexyl-N,N,N-trimethylmethanaminium hydroxide was achieved through quaternization reaction followed by electrochemical purification. Subsequently, a high-efficiency organo-chlorine transfer agent was prepared by dissolving stoichiometrically equivalent amounts of 1-cyclohexyl-N,N,N-trimethylmethanaminium hydroxide and sodium hydroxide in anhydrous ethanol solvent. Experimental studies demonstrated that when applied in electric desalination processes for crude oil treatment, the agent exhibits remarkable dechlorination performance, effectively reducing the organic chlorine content to below 1 mg/kg with a removal efficiency exceeding 90% and low cost, which was a significant improvement over conventional methods.
