- Abstract
This study presents a comprehensive chemical and mineralogical analysis of a zinc oxide ore, and investigates flotation methods and collector agents for its beneficiation. The results indicate that the primary valuable mineral is smithsonite, while the gangue minerals include dolomite, limonite, quartz, and pyrite. The ore exhibits a high oxidation rate and appears as a brown, loose, powdery, soil-like material. The ore mainly consists of micro-mud crystal structures and sparse disseminated structures. Conventional flotation methods, such as sulfide-amine flotation and sulfide-amine flotation after desliming pretreatment, along with the use of E-3 collector, demonstrate poor selectivity for this ore. Therefore, it is essential to explore new and effective collector agents tailored to the specific characteristics of this zinc oxide ore.
