Abstract

In recent years, Game-Based Learning (GBL) has been an innovative approach to improve education efficiency. In this study, the author focuses on the application of GBL in different educational stages, from early childhood education to higher education. The ultimate intention is to help educators adjust game strategies to satisfy learners’ cognitive and developmental needs. Research finds that GBL enhances sensory, cognitive, and social skills in early childhood, improves basic academic abilities such as literacy and mathematics in primary education, fosters critical thinking and collaboration in secondary education, and supports advanced problem-solving and professional skills in higher education. By integrating cognitive development theories such as Piaget’s stages and Vygotsky’s Zone of Proximal Development, the study emphasizes the importance of different developmental features in designing GBL strategies. The results highlight GBL’s potential to promote not only academic success but also emotional resilience, social adaptability, and lifelong learning skills. Conclusively, it advocates for a unified framework to optimize GBL across diverse learning environments and emphasizes its role in preparing students for the demands of a knowledge-driven and technology-rich society.
