College students from Hong Kong‚ Macao, Taiwan, and Overseas Chinese have become an important group of students in higher education institutions in Mainland China. The cultivation of innovation and entrepreneurship ability of these students is not only the necessary meaning of the implementation of innovation and entrepreneurship education in colleges and universities but also an important part of the United Front Work of the Communist Party of China. Innovation and entrepreneurship activities are one of the important forms and contents of innovation and entrepreneurship education, and also the carrier of innovation and entrepreneurship practice. Taking X University, a century-old overseas Chinese school, as an example, this study explores the current situation of students from Hong Kong‚ Macao, Taiwan, and overseas Chinese participating in innovation and entrepreneurship activities through questionnaire surveys and semi-structured interviews, and further explores the influencing factors in view of the low rate and low level of participation. It also proposes specific guidance measures and management strategies from several aspects, such as ensuring effective publicity, optimizing form and content, improving the adaptability of team formation, strengthening process guidance, and giving play to the evaluation guidance function to provide certain theoretical and practical guidance for the current innovation and entrepreneurship education reform and the cultivation of innovative talents for students from Hong Kong‚ Macao, Taiwan and Overseas Chinese.
