Abstract

From the “Media Capital” theory perspective, this paper explores the relationship between Hong Kong and Phnom Penh in Cambodia in the early Cold War, revealing that it has both non-state nature and the packaging and export function of official ideology and showing the integration of political power and media capital. By investigating the “snake films” output in Phnom Penh, it emphasizes the two-way and interaction of cultural flow, which shows that “provincial cities” can also absorb innovative resources from “capital” through media channels and realize cultural reproduction.
