Abstract

As artificial intelligence (AI) converges with mobile internet technologies, English micro-lecture development is moving from static delivery toward intelligent and adaptive services. Guided by recent national policies, including the Outline of the Plan for Building an Education Powerhouse (2024–2035), this paper identifies three major challenges in mobile English micro-lecture design: repetitive content, weak interactivity, and limited personalization. To address these issues, we examine how AI can add value through resource optimization, improved teaching quality, and higher learning efficiency. We further propose three design principles, namely ease of production and high compatibility, generative integration, and closed-loop iterative improvement, together with specific implementation pathways. Supported by three representative case studies, the proposed framework offers a practical roadmap for developing smarter English learning resources and for making micro-lecture production and learning more intelligent and personalized.
