- Abstract
Agricultural diversification plays an important role in enhancing farm income through the capacity of farmers to grow a range of crops and engage in other agricultural activities. This research evaluates the impact of diversification on farm income in North Bihar selected districts (Darbhanga, Begusarai, Madhubani, and Samastipur). This research paper highlights the implementation of modern agricultural practices, the introduction of livestock farming, and adoption of high-value crops to improve the utilization of resources and reduce farming risks. This study uses qualitative and quantitative techniques to evaluate the impact of diversification on income stability, productivity, sustainability and modern farming technique. The findings reveal that diversification has highly contributed to increasing farmers’ income, reduced dependency on traditional crops and methods, added economic benefits. The study also evaluates challenges such as market access, infrastructure deficit, and policy support needed for sustainable diversification. The study concludes with policy and practical recommendations for enhancing agricultural diversification to enhance long-term farm income in Bihar.
