Abstract

It has been highly believed that people with higher Social Intelligence (SI) and decent education are being recognized as a successful individual as per the recent times. Taking this as a base statement, this study aims to explore and compare the level of Social Intelligence among business school students and non-business school students, precisely concentrating on the impact of gender, education level, and age. The study uses the MESI (Multidimensional Emotional and Social Intelligence) model, with the focus on establishing significant differences in SI across the selected variables. The findings suggest that there is no noteworthy difference in the SI score of the selected groups (B-School and Non-B-school students) but there is a substantial association between gender, age and qualification level to the Social Intelligence scores. The implications of these findings notify the formulation of targeted strategies for developing Social Intelligence in schools, ensuring the overall development of students. Discussions and observations of this paper further explore the study’s significance and impact in relation to the educational policy in India taking base of NEP 2020.
